About Chasing The Sun

Born by the sea, evolved in the sun.

Chasing The Sun began in the Cayman Islands in 2018, when founder and creative director Debbie Meraram started creating and selling her work at local markets as a personal creative outlet.

Inspired by the beauty of island life, the earliest pieces were shaped by the natural materials and textures around her — washed-ashore sea fans, Cayman sand, pressed bougainvillea, shells and organic elements that carried a sense of place.

What began at local markets gradually grew into something much larger.

In October 2020, Chasing The Sun launched its first Wearable Art Experience, bringing people into the creative process and giving guests the opportunity to create something personal they could wear or carry. By January 2021, the experience had moved into the Marriott Grand Cayman, marking the beginning of a growing presence within the Cayman Islands’ resort and destination community.

Over time, Chasing The Sun expanded through resort retail, destination events and creative experiences, while its collections continued to evolve beyond the original jewelry that started the journey.
